Duct System Cleaning

Ottawa Duct Cleaning

AWS Remediation’s rule of thumb is that if your ducts look dirty, they probably are, and that dirty HVAC system should be inspected by a reputable, certified HVAC professional. Below are some other reasons Ottawa homeowners choose AWS to have their air ducts cleaned.

Compared to clumsy van or truck-mounted units, our Portable Power Vacuums have exceptional flexibility and portability needed to access and clean air handling systems on the first floor or the fifty-first floor. Plus, true HEPA filters with 99.97%-rated efficiency or greater ensure that only “hospital grade” pure air is released back into the building. Narrow profiles allow our HEPA-AIRE vacuums to fit through and into spaces that are inaccessible to other units. Large rear wheels feature soft, non-marking smooth rubber tires.

Indoor air quality is one concern that Ottawa homeowners have when they decide to investigate air duct cleaning. In a typical six-room home, up to 40 pounds of dust is created annually through everyday living. Your heating and cooling system is the lungs of your home. The system taken air in and breathes air out.

Through normal occupation in a home, we generate a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants, such as dander, dust, and chemicals. These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average. Over time, this re-circulation causes a build-up of contaminants in the duct work.

While dirty ducts don’t necessarily mean unhealthy air in your home, school or workplace, they may be contributing to larger health issues or harboring contaminants that could cause serious problems for people with respiratory health conditions, autoimmune disorders or some environmental allergies.

Energy Savings

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 25 to 40 percent of the energy used for heating or cooling a home is wasted. Contaminants in the heating and cooling system cause it to work harder and shorten the life of your system. Although filters are used, the heating and cooling system still gets dirty through normal use.

When an HVAC system is clean, it doesn’t have to work as hard to maintain the temperature you desire. As a result, less energy is used, leading to improved cost-effectiveness.

Scope of Work

What we do on a routine duct cleaning services is our NADCA certified technicians arrive with our fully equipped trailer. We set up our scaffolding structure if necessary to access the duct work. We then very carefully remove and HEPA vacuum and pressure wash all supply grills.

We then HEPA vacuum and air wash the fan units including all of the fan blades. We then connect our high-volume HEPA collector to the main supply ducts to extract particles from the ducts. We then meticulously scrape, wire brush and HEPA vacuum all the supply grills. Power brush and wipe all debris from branching lines from the main duct. We then power brush and air whip all dust and particles into our HEPA collector.

We then apply our non-toxic sanitizing cleaner to the full HVAC System, fan, coils and all duct work. we will conduct all of our work while the system is under negative pressure ensuring that any dislodged dirt, dust or particulate matter of any type is drawn into the system during the cleaning process. This will ensure that there is no contamination of the living space at any time. Following that we clean up all of our materials and reinstall all grills and fans and vacuum up all remaining dust and particles.
